One Story Model

A model of a typical story of WTC towers 1 and 2 using the collected structural data is shown in the image below. In this model, the layout of the core columns was approximated from the architectural drawings. The the beams connecting the core columns are approximate and based on the Astaneh-Asl paper. All of the model elements, the columns, beams and trusses, are modeled as 1-dimensional components at this phase in the modeling. Later stages of the effort will identify those components that require higher fidelity modeling. Comments and corrections on any aspect of this model are welcomed.
