This is a repeat of a post I made on other forums. When I have completed the work of extracting the column data and producing images it will be incorporated into site content.
Below is an animated gif I put together that sequences through the entire set of CC501 images I created from the NIST "plate shape" data file. Note that the orientation of the column data changed suddenly after the first few. For this animation I compensated by rotating those first few by 90 degrees which will show up in the animation by the sudden shift in the image. Also, there are several columns which seem to have only two plates specified in the data file. You'll see that for the last couple of images in the sequence before it cycles back to the beginning. Not sure what to make of that yet. Note that the last few digits in the naming scheme for the column sections signifies the floor at which the column section type ends. In other words CC501A1 ends at floor 1 (bottom of story 1), CC501A3 starts on floor 3, and so on.
